The Desire HD – HTC Desire HD Contract
The long awaitied and much hyped HTC Desire HD is finally hitting store shelves. After a long wait and delay after delay the HTC Desire HD release date has past and you can finally get your hands on the phone. But is the hype just hype, or is this the phone of the future? Trust me, the handset really does set the bar high. HTC have the iPhone shaking in its boots with the launch of the Desire HD which is set to be the biggest phone of this year.
Last year the original Desire was unavailable for months as HTC rushed to meet demand, will the same be true for the Desire HD?
HTC Desire HD Review
I must admit, when I first saw this handset it wasn’t love at first sight. However, after having spent some time playing with one I’ve got to say I have fallen in love with the handset. The build quality is fantastic and HTC certainly haven’t held back in any area of the phone. The Desire HD is a serious threat to the iPhone and im sure Apple’s execs are worried! Anyway, less jabber and more reviewing!
Single Piece Aluminum Shell
One of the things that really stands out about this phone is how HTC have built it. Instead of the case been made up of lots of plastic parts bolted together, the Desire HD is actually made from a solid piece of Aluminum. Yes thats right, every Desire HD starts life as a solid block of metal which is then carved to create the case for the phone. Pretty impressive huh?
Dolby Digital Sound
Mobile phones have always pumped out pretty low quality sound, but HTC have decided to change that once and for all. They have teamed up with Dolby (you know the surround sound gurus) to create Dolby Digital Mobile which offers full 5.1 streaming directly from the handset!
Android OS 2.2
With every version of Android that is released there is a host of new features to explore. The good news is that HTC are shipping the Desire HD with the latest version of Android 2.2!
8 MP Digital Camera
The digital camera within the HTC Desire HD has additionally received a major revamp. Prior to this the original Desire featured a 5mp camera along with single LED flash. The brand new Desire HD now has a powerful 8 Megapixel digicam along with twin LED flash to capture bright images in dark conditions.
720P Movie Recording
Remember the days when mobile phones would record videos in the poorest quality you could imagine? Well thats a thing of the past thanks to the amazing HD camcorder that is built into the phone.
802.11n WiFi Network
Also the built in WiFi has experienced an update! The all new 802.11n WiFi integration offers blistering transfer speeds of 300mbps which is perfect for streaming media to and from the handset.
